For treatment of injectables you can contact Drs. Peter Termohlen. The most modern techniques and the best materials have been approved by the FDA.
Injectables include fillers and muscle relaxants. The muscle relaxants are used to reduce a certain muscle activity. In mainstream medicine, injectables have been used for years to relax spastic muscles or to combat certain types of headaches. In cosmetics, it is a means to reduce muscle activity and thus the active wrinkling of, for example, the forehead, the frown and around the eyes.
Muscle relaxants are very suitable for softening the frown lines, forehead lines, crow’s feet and the horizontal neck folds. Lines of the upper lip can also be treated in a number of cases. It can also be used in case of excessive perspiration of armpits, hands, feet and also upper lip; in this indication it is generally enjoyed for 6-7 months.
The muscle relaxer is injected into the muscle so that this muscle (this muscle) can temporarily cease to contract. The effect occurs after 5 to 10 days and lasts for 3 to 4 months. After this, the treatment can be repeated. If the treatment is repeated more often, the effectiveness may last longer. It is a protein that is completely broken down by the body.
The treatment takes between 15 and 20 minutes. The substance is injected through the skin with a small injection needle. Most people do not experience this as painful. The slight redness or small swelling that develops will disappear after ½ to 1 hour.
Juvederm is a non-permanent filler used to fill wrinkles or create more volume of the face. Think of the lip contour or fuller lips, the filling of the cheekbones or cheeks, the blurring of the nose-lip line and the puppet line (line between the corner of the mouth and jaw edge), a deep line in the chin, crow’s feet and scars or other irregularities as a result of, for example, acne. Both substances are hyaluronic acids of excellent quality and durability, juvederm also contains a small amount of anesthetic liquid, which makes the treatment even less sensitive. Juvederm is the only hyaluronic acid of the fillers that has received approval from the US FDA (Food and Drug Administration) for the correction of deep to medium deep lines for a period of 1 year. Our experience is that 75% of clients still enjoy their treatment after more than a year.
The treatment and result
The durability of surgiderm / juvederm is 10 to 14 months. A treatment takes 20 to 30 minutes and the results are immediately visible. Because very thin needles are used, the treatment is almost painless. The hyaluronic acid is recognized by the body as a body’s own substance and is completely biodegradable. After treatment, the injection sites may be a little red and swollen, and sometimes a small bruise will appear, which will disappear after a few days.
Formerly known as Newfill, this substance stimulates the formation of new collagen by its own cells, making the skin firmer. Ultimately, therefore, the body itself provides the filling, to what extent depends on the amount of collagen that is formed. Not every skin is suitable for this. For a good result, 3 or 4 treatments are required. There is a period of 6 weeks between the treatments. On average it takes 3 to 6 months before the final result is clearly visible. A touch-up treatment is recommended every 1 to 2 years.
Sculptra is inserted into the skin with thin needles, sometimes 5 to 8 injections per area to be treated (cheeks, cheekbones, jaw line). The skin is numbed with a cream. During the first hours, the skin looks a bit red and irritated and bruises may appear. This is normal and the skin recovers quickly.
Radiesse is a non-permanent filler that is used for filling in particular the deeper wrinkles such as deep nose-lip lines, and for example to beautify the contours of the jaw line. The effect lasts about 1 year. The substances in radiesse also occur naturally in the body and the product has been used for years in fields such as orthopedics and dentistry.
Treatment and result
A treatment takes 20 to 30 minutes. Sometimes a small anesthetic is given locally. Radiesse is injected with a thin needle. The material gradually dissolves in the body and is replaced by the body’s own cells. A flexible filling is created, the result is immediately visible. For optimal results it is sometimes necessary to repeat the treatment. After treatment, there may be some swelling and redness that usually disappear within 24 hours.
