Acne is caused by an inflammation of the sebaceous gland. The sebaceous glands produce sebum, which flow into hair follicles. If these output passages become clogged, acne develops. The characteristics of acne are blackheads, whiteheads, red bumps, pimples and subcutaneous inflammation.

Treatment can include microdermabrasion, peels, deep cleansing and laser. Also, using the right home products is very important to keep the acne as calm as possible. The skin therapists from Huid & Laser Utrecht can advise you with this

Fractional laser treatment (Acne)scars

After acne, deep subcutaneous inflammation can leave scars. Visible pores, a coarse skin structure and color differences such as red and brown spots (PIH) can also occur.

At Huid & Laser Utrecht, acne scars are treated with different fractional lasers. This is the most innovative method of treating acne scars. This treatment has also been proven effective by scientific research.

Laser treatment leg vessels

Red or purple-blue superficial leg vessels can be treated with the Nd-YAG laser or a combination with the Alexandrite laser. These vessels are no longer functional in the bloodstream and can safely be removed.

Couperose and other vasculair abnormalities of the skin

With the Nd-YAG laser or a combination with the Alexandrite laser, couperose, a spider nevus or blood vesicles can be treated.

Vaginal laser treatment

The Shelaser laser is the latest innovation in the field of vaginal lasers. The Shelase laser has a unique combination of 2 lasers in 1; the Co2 and the Erbium-Glass laser. The laser treatment is a painless solution for women with vaginal complaints such as pain during sex, decreased sensation of sex due to vaginal sagging, stress and exercise incontinence, vaginal dryness, recurring vaginal infections, irritation and a burning and cracks in the vagina and sagging of the labia. The Shelase laser renews the vaginal mucosa and stimulates the production of collagen, whereby the connective tissue of the vaginal wall and around the urethra and bladder is restored and strengthened. The treatment can also be performed externally to rejuvenate the labia.

Skinrejuvenation with the Fractional laser

We have a wide range of different types of fractional and non-fractional lasers, so that a customized treatment can be offered. Sometimes a combination of different lasers gives the best result. The fractional laser provides a finer skin structure, better blood circulation in the skin and fades scars and fine lines. The laser creates many tiny holes in the skin, which activates the skin renewal process. During this process new cells of connective tissue and collagen are produced, which will strengthen the skin. The heat from the laser creates bundles of heat deep within the skin, causing tissue shrinkage. This can slow down the skin aging process. We work with the CO2 laser, the Erbium-YAG and the Erbium-Glass laser. We offer the latest technology where it is even possible to combine the Erbium-Glass laser with the Co2 laser in 1 pulse, this ensures an optimal result!

Skin curettage for skin elevations

Benign skin blemishes such as age warts, fibroids and fat bumps can be quickly removed with a laser or curette. Skin blemishes are localized accumulations of tissues and cells. They can consist of sebum, connective tissue, blood vessels or pigment. Often the cause is not fully known, but excessive sun exposure, skin aging and hereditary predisposition often play a major role.

Laser hairremoval

At Huid & Laser Utrecht, laser hair removal is performed with various high-quality lasers. Due to the unique technique in which two different lasers can be combined in one pulse, a safe and very effective result can be achieved with all skin types. During the consultation, the skin therapist will determine which laser treatment is suitable for you, depending on your type of hair and skin. The treatment is carried out with one of the following lasers:

  • Alexandrite laser (755 nm), for light skin types
  • Nd-YAG (1064 nm) in dark to black skin
  • Combination of the Alexandrite and Nd-YAG laser with a tinted skin

Laser treatment pigmentation spots

With the Alexandrite laser or IPL, unwanted pigment spots such as sun spots and age spots can be effectively removed in a few treatments.

Rosacea treatment

Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory reaction of the skin. We often see a butterfly-shaped redness on the cheeks and nose. Dilated vessels and bumps may also be visible. The skin can quickly become red and sensitive. Rosacea treatment can include mild peels, the Erbium-Glass laser, IPL or the vascular laser. During the consultation, the skin therapist makes a customized treatment plan. The treatment reduces redness and blood vessels and improves the structure of the skin. If there are also bumps or acne, peels can bring this under control.

Laser treatment fungal nails

At Huid & Laser Utrecht fungal nails are treated with the Pinpointe laser. The light from the laser penetrates the nail and is converted into heat. A temperature is reached at which fungi cannot live; the cells of the fungi are destroyed. The surrounding skin and nail will remain intact and no side effects will occur. The result becomes visible when the nail starts to grow. Nails on the hands and nails on the feet can be treated.

The treatments at Huid & Laser Utrecht can be eligible for reimbursement from your health insurer from the supplementary package. We advise you to contact your insurer so that you can discuss your options.
